Network with other teachers and administrators-what are others doing and how can we learn together?
Classroom teachers need to be trained in language (regarding KITE-LL)
What are connections between KITE-LL and all other learning (the big picture)
Resources for KITE-LL - not about the program but other resources to use as a classroom teacher
Implementation of evaluations - the process - identify students and their needs
Teachers being facilitors
Familiarize with "can do" statements to understand more about what we can expect our students to do.
Providing the question: Why is World Language important? PD with staff about this so teachers can re-think this.
Advocacy - seeding ideas for teachers. Maybe become full blown PD for next year? Teacher becoming more active advocates for language learning.

Begin to give responsibility to advanced learners
Prepare students for increased freedom
Linguafolio
PLN’s for students- facebook groups, twitter for classes
Share ideas across languages, with other teachers who are on board. Planting seeds with others who may not be "quite" ready yet so they can "lurk" and observe others as they implement changes.
Present idea during collaborative days/ during district language meeting- talk to Dawn
Proceed with a small number of students to begin with...try NOW on a limited bases in order to prepare to do on a larger scale next year. (famliarize with Linguafolio, set goals, communicate)
Ask sts to be blog about their experience trying this so that WE can ALL learn from the process.
Goal setting with students
Set their next learning goal/focus before a break
Different settings for younger chldren to work in for individualized learning opportunities
What are our needs?
Use intervention block to talk with students (those who have "study hall" could be pushed during this time)

Professional development on how to teach students to set learning goals and to track progress - this year and next PD for teachers so they may begin the process with sts. Start with those ready to move forward.
Conversations about vertically aligning this strategy (philosphy?) Students need to be able to continue this method/philosophy when they move forward. Will the receiving teachers be ready to take these kids? How do we prepare the students so they are ready to take control of their own learning, even if the next teacher is not on board yet?
How do we increase options for students/teachers?
Discuss policies with people who have authority to change them regarding peformance credentialing
Identify policy areas that need to be addressed. (looping, frequency in the classroom, core etc...)
Put emphasis on letting sts know the expectations for end of units so they can take "some" autonomy by helping to demonstrate their understanding of the content goals.
Start preparing Latin for 6th grade with this mindset.
**These things will need to continue in 2010-2011
In our classrooms--let students know expectations of the last unit(s) and allow them some autonomy in how to demonstrate learning (perhaps a contract at the beginning of the unit)

1. Ruta will come and train language teachers on LinguaFolio ;-)
2. Change district goal from "Multi-lingual" to "Plurilingual"
3. Immersion Task Force to include reps from all sites (Admins, parents, teachers - grade level and middle grade, coordinators from content areas, directors, community and board members, guidance counselors and students) - have someone here
-discussion about where immersion is going/planning
4. Dawn to train WLT's abt ACTFL Performance Guidelines - those who are ready.
5. Immersion teachers to visit other district immersion classrooms in action.
How do we set up an electronic network with others in other districts who are doing this.
See if classroom2.0.com has a network for immersion teachers
See if CARLA would start a FB page for immersion?
6. Plan in place for MS for next year for how to group Ss for those who have rcvd KITELL and those who haven't AND 6th graders will only have 9 weeks in each language next year!!
-request PD for the middle grade teachers who will have KITE-LL
Communications plan for KITE-LL with those middle grades.
How do we take languages OUT OF THE BOX????? Not a different box, size box etc....
